If you lower timings have to increase voltage? - Page 2

Do not change RAM voltage, this value must be between 1.5 and 1.7.
What you wanna do is reduce the timmings, so increase QPI/DRAM voltage.
changing RAM voltage won't allow it go for higher frequencies or lower timmings.

? Increasing the memory frequency also increases the uncore frequency, this is why you usually have to bump up the qpi/vtt voltage.
Increasing the dram voltage certainly does allow you to clock it higher & lower timings. You just have to make sure the dram voltage stays within .5 volts of the qpi/vtt voltage so you don't risk damaging the IMC.

well... I went from 9-9-9-24-88 to 8-8-8-24-72 and bumped from 1.6 to 1.65 with my 23x175 4025mhz overclock i couldnt get it stable without bumping my CPU voltage from my beautiful 1.25 all the way to 1.31

I had IBT warning system wasnt stable... and had 1 worker always failing a .4 rounding to .5 calculation.... so i just put my timings back to 9-9-9-24-88 and said its nto worth the vcore adjustment for the miniscule overclock on my ram.. at 1754mhz and uclock of exactly double.. what does this UCLCK do does it have to be exactly double?

For the bloomfield cpus like your 950 the uncore (uclck) does have to be at least double the ram speed.
Overclocking the uncore can increase performance, but it does come at a cost of more voltage & heat.
Pretty sure the uncore handles the integrated memory controller, links up the NB & SB, etc. I could be wrong there...

uncore is L3 cache and imc, basically the link between the core and ram.
QPI is the link between core and nb.
