all that i know is that it is 1:1 fsb:ram ration. not sure what linked, unlinked, or synced is.

Try setting the ram as Kingston describe on their site.

And 1.4 Vcore is somewhat insane for a 3.3-3.6ghz... It should be in the 1.3 area

Maybe you can get some tips in these threads:

idk why, but my mobo only lets me go down to 1.4. reason to update bios, or should i just go with it?

the 1 at the end, is that cr? (command rate)
as far as i know your ram should be cr2 or 2T
it will tell you this in cpu-z under the memory tab
cr1 is faster but more unstable, you should be able to ajust this in the bios
also stock speed for these is 533mhz or 1066mhz (1066/2=533 as its ddr2)
so at 800mhz you have your ram UNDERCLOCKED

also are these the ones with the blue pcb? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820104098
doing a quick google search, they are saying they should be at 2.2v, but look on the box they came in or on the sticks themselves, the recommended voltage will be on it

edit. here are some pics of your ram, with 2.2v and timings of 5-5-5-15 2t and overclocked settings
http://www.overclockersclub.com/revi...perx8500/3.htm

so in bios, if you change the settings to 5-5-5-15 (or 18 to give you some leeway) and the cr to 2t
change the voltage to 2.2v and the ram speed to 533 or ddr2-1066
now your ram should be at its rated speed

There is no way 1.4 is your lowest setting for VCore. Poke around more in there. The VID of the E8400s can be as low as 1.17, and you should have settings even lower than that.

That's just it. I can't figure it out. But I am absolutely sure that the only options my bios gives me is 1.4-1.7 and everything in between.

This ram an all hyper x ram comes underclocked. S of now I have it at 1000mhz at 5-5-5-15-21, but now I can't touch my CPU cloak speed or my pc won't post.
