[CG]Dice Says PC Gaming Isn’t Dead, Battlefield 3 Will Fix The FPS Experience - Page 9

While I pretty much only play TF2 (minus trying a few games here or there), I'd really prefer an immersive single-player campaign rather than dice "saving" the fps PC community with a multiplayer-only game.

Is this (another) repost or are DICE just droning on, and on, and on about this?

Pfft, and some of you people think this isn't marketing bs...

Well fingers crossed it works out, but eh, not got my hopes up.

This game needs to be like Half Life 2, because Half Life 2 is the bestest game ever,
because it was the first PC game I have ever played when mommy bought me my first PC it was installed on it.
I never really played any other PC games like Half Life 1 before because I'm a bandwagoner circa 2004.

And the plot in Half Life 2 is so innovative: you have to fight aliens that invade the world! OMG that's never been done in gaming history before. And there's also a girl sidekick and a cute dog robot, it's so cute, OMG the cute robots are such an innovative idea.

I wish BF3 would have some cute dog robot so you can play with it, it will totally create a great athmosphere and make the game feel more serious.

I loved BF2 and from what I see of BF3, well I am really looking forward to it, will have to tone it down for my lappy but I do not care, I just want some kickass multiplayer again.

Well, Dice claim to be creating an immersive single player campaign for folks like you. Much to the chagrin of many multi-player BF fans.

Hope not a dissapointment when game is released.
exactly. They did similar with BC2 and everyone was like "BC2 is going to save us all" like some religious cult. Then what happened? Everyone complained about stupid crap and the game had and still does have quite a few problems.

same. I hope it's as great as game as they're claiming, and just because it's a sequel to my all time favorite FPS games I'm excited but not because they're claiming "FPS will be fixed." Since when does it need to be fixed? If it did, then why didn't BC2 do it? And what exactly are you claiming to "fix"?

Just out of curiosity, could you list some of those problems? Because I have had BC2 for a while, but only "got into it" a couple of months ago and I can't really find much that is wrong with it. The few things that I CAN recall are very minor. And imo BC2 did in fact "save" PC gaming. We would have been left with COD until BF3's release if BC2 didn't come to PC.

1. Zoom bug when server has a custom respawn timer. (If you zoom with any weapon right after spawning, your zoom will be pulled back a few seconds later)

2. Spawn selection. If you select a squad member to spawn on, and your team loses or gains a flag, your spawn selection will default to your uncappable base or some random flag.

That's all I can really think of. There may be others that are just so minor that I don't remember, but again, they're minor and I'll probably shrug them off.
