Correct me if I am wrong but I think you got the wrong RAM. You are supposed to get a dual channel RAM.I registered to this forum just to let you know. Lol

I'm just kidding! in all honesty,
the stock cooler on the 2600K is pretty decent...
but something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-065-_-Product

would be great if you want a simple drop in replacement. that will help your temps stay low.

I like the i5 2500k I have. I know your friend isnt a fan of OCing... but its nice on the SB processors because its not a constant OC... its only under load.... at idle the processor only spits out a GHz speed.

Since games do not take advantage of hyperthreading... the i7 is kind of a waste. Also the extra 100 MHz is totally not worth the price jump for a gaming rig.
It is a build for someone I know and they are not into OC so yea. I mainly posted this to just get second opinions / feedback. Yea I thought about the 2500K at first but wasn't sure. Most likely we will drop it down to the 2500K though.

I also have heard good reviews on that heatsink but it didn't show up in the 1155 filter. Definitely going to look at that one. Thanks!

Anyone got any idea when we will we get more mobos for this processor? I was looking to build a rig around Sandy during spring break. Any chance we might get some variety by then?

Depends when your spring break is. ExcaliburPC shows the ETA for some motherboards being around 15 March, but you can probably expect there to be shortages/etc.. from people building new Sandy Bridge systems. Newegg has 5 or 6 listed, but I think 2 or 3 are out of stock...
Thank You OCN!

Any chance of getting some that support tri-channel configs? I haven't seen any so far.

Thanks. Just waiting on the new B3 1155 boards to come in. MSI board I picked isn't in stock anymore and didn't really want to get the H67...
