[P67] Lowest CPU PLL you have tried?

Thread Starter
I've used CPU PLL 1.7v since day 1 on my 2500k. No issues at all. A new BIOS from Biostar just dropped the lower limit down to 1.4v and my curiosity runs high, testing as we speak however what experiences have you had with it?

I'm at 1.6v CPU PLL, testing to see if I can drop my voltage for this OC, I figure 8 hours of prime95 blend should do er good

Have you tried the new IBT with SP1 on Windows 7? Now that it supports the AVX instruction set I think IBT is once again the best stability test.
Edit: My PLL has been left on auto cause I'm lazy.

I'm testing this out now at 1.7v. What is this supposed to effect? The cpu-imc-ram chain? If so I'd assume I can't drop it as far with full ram slots + 1866.

I'm currently running my 2500k at Vcore offset of +0.005V (1.28V under full load in CPU-Z) with CPU PLL at 1.586V and VTT at 0.921V. I've been running this for a couple of weeks with multiple long term stress tests completed.

I just added a 2nd Blademaster to my Hyper 212+ and it dropped my load temps by 12c which is way lower than I expected. Weird thing is that my temps in CoreTemp and RealTemp jump 2 to 8 degrees pretty frequently...not sure if this is normal for push and pull.

I'm going to see if I can get 4.8GHz on 1.28V...really doubt it lol.

You need to check your load temps, to see if they're different with 1.6v instead of 1.8v. The only reason I ever see people decreasing their pll voltages is because it reduces temps for some people (never did for me...)

Is there any reason to not lower PLL and VTT?

You don't want to lower VTT. VTT on the older i7's could degrade the CPU severely if it were greater than 0.5v difference from DDR Ram. On the SB, VTT is already at a low 1.050 so that ratio doesn't apply anymore, but NO ONE knows if SB needs a new ratio or not, and I don't think anyone wants to test it (except maybe on a dud CPU). No need to lower it, and I don't think you want to risk bluescreens or degrading cpu's by trying to get away with 0.9v or something.

PLL ? YMMV.

I've ran these settings for about 2 weeks with lots of stress testing. No BSODs.

I didn't see lower temps by lowering these 2 settings but Radier successfully lowered his temps by lowering both PLL and VTT.
