Duke Nukem 3D, because it was first FPS multiplayer deathmatch experience I had on LAN with my friends. Soon after that it was Quake.

I think the older Doom is better than the older Nukem, but I think the newer Nukem is probably going to be alot better then Doom III.

Definitely Doom. Duke Nukem has a technically better game engine but Doom is just more fun, especially multiplayer cooperative. Maybe it's just because I've played Doom hundreds of times and Duke Nukem only a couple, but I always get lost or confused in Duke Nukem and spend too much time trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing.

This, I haven't played the original Nukem that much but did like his original cheesy one liners. I probably should go back and play the original before the new one comes out. I believe there's graphics hacks for it now to make it look much better too.

Doom

Duke 3d w/o a doubt for me. Yes I am plenty old enough to have enjoyed the hell out of both of them and while I understand Doom is heralded as the main father for fps I really believe that after you get over that fact Duke 3d is simply a better game.

Words cannot express the pure joy of playing Duke 3d on Ten and Kali back in the day. Using the map editor to build and share maps online. All the new single player maps and stuff thrown out there by the community. Simply put Duke 3d was a way of life for myself and many others back in the day

Doom can't quite say that. Not for me anyway.

Ahh man Duke for me too. I loved it so much I bought the Atomic addition as well and man that just blew me away. Its been so long but it was something tricky you had to do to get the atomic version to work I forgot what it was. Doom was fun too it was def groundbreaking for its time. I hated trying to find the correct sound drivers for the game. Duke 3d multiplayer could not be matched though. *BEEP BEEP BEEP* SUCK IT DOWN!

Edit!
I think I bought the Kill-a-ton Edition. Man why can't we get a mass amount of games at a good price anymore?
