I did not originally plan on such a large power supply but the newegg power supply calculator showed 1017w. I looked at the HX1000 and liked that one as well however the AX1200 cables looked much nicer lol. Its silly i know but I'm slowly trying to work towards a certain look for this comp.
It also might be important to note that I will be adding a full EK liquid cooling system and from what I have read ill need some extra power for the pump.
Are you sure that an HX850 would do it? I'm just fearful of having to upgrade again sometime soon if i go lower that's all. Big plans tight budget lol
A 650-750w will power two 6970's easily. Unless you're going to quad SLI four GTX 580's, then 1200w is pointless.

Not if you have stupidly low loads on it. Afterall, 1200w is almost double of what he needs.
