Would this be safe? [Overclocking]

Thread Starter
I have a phenom 1090T and I would like to overclock it to 4ghz, but when I do so I got well over 60°c when stress testing with prime. But I never stress my cpu that hard in real time, would I be safe to overclock it to 4ghz eventhough when it's on full load it will go above the safe temps?

New CPU cooler.

Also what are your system specs?
Fill them out here

From what i hear 63C is the top or something. But heat doesn't kill as quickly as voltage. Actually heat takes a long time to kill. Voltage can be instant (if you push above 1.9-2.0 or higher)

55C is the maximum safe temperature according to AMD but what are the rest of your specs?

I don't think you understand. I only go above the safe temps when stressing my cpu to the max with prime [@4Ghz that is), but like I said, In real time I never stress my cpu that hard so it shouldn't go above safe temps with my normal day use.

Also, if I do overheat it, how long can I go before I kill it? I will buy a new IvyBridge PC when they come out so..
