While they won't blame the new ram module, they will most certainly blame the user. Companies feel that "we" are too stupid to do a simple upgrade. Why not try again with the original ram, the worst that can happen is that it is like prom all over again with getting told no.

I don't void all warranties...just the ones on the most expensive things I buy. You know, computers, phones, trucks, the usual thumb.gif

warranty is overrated, this is why i actually prefer used parts, no need to care about warranty. the only time a part has failed was my ga-790xta-ud4 board where the fan header burned, i contacted the store and they said it would took 10 working days before i would get replacemeant, i asked them to send the replacemeant(a new better am3+ mobo) first but they denied that.. i am still using that mobo. edit: i forgot about my logitech g500 mouse that i returned and got a new a few month before warranty expired.

i have overclocked my gpu, screen, cellphone, cpu and ram(i think i got it covered). this club is to easy to join, voiding at least 3 warranties should be minimum to join.

Yeah, Logitech is pretty good on warranties. My left mouse button became unreliable after about 2 years of use, and all they wanted me to do was to email them the receipt. I didnt even have to ship the old one back. smile.gif

i guess it will depend on the screen but in practise it won't effect the warranty in practise of course, the overclocking possible is determined by the pcb on the screen so the manufacturer can prevent it easily.
