Thats the front panel switch that I found on another forum. And this Is what was said about how it is wired.

A standard switch would have the negative just go directly to the device from the power supply and the actual power lead would go from power supply to the switch and from switch to device. Sounds like the actual diversion of power is handled in the fan circuit itself. If that fan is replaced you may just have to cut the leads and wire it manually. I just did this to a buddys case which he wanted to be able to switch off his highlighting. As for the device that you have I would just use the molex and cut the power lead and run it to one of the switch wires and then run the other wire for the switch to the other end of the cut power lead going to the device. effectively just adding the switch in between the power. Hope I helped some and if anyone else sees something wrong with this please chime in.
Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. Could you draw out a diagram for me because it is a little hard for me to visualize what your talking about here.

As you can see you are just cutting the power lead coming from the device and instead of it going directly to the device it goes to the switch and then from the switch back to the device and now the switch is controlling the flow of power to the device. Turn switch on makes internal connection and we have lights. Hope this helps ya man. If you have any further questions let me know. Got a bunch going on right now so if I dont respond right away and you are in a jam PM me since it goes to my phone and will get it even if Im away from the pc.

Thanks so much for the help. I'm still a little confused. Are the color of the wires in the diagram accurate? The connector that goes from the fan's leds up to the switch has 1 red, and 1 black wire. And of course the molex has 4 different colors of wires. I just want to make sure I fully understand before I try to do this. Also, I don't think i've used a soldering gun since jr. high, so that is another issue. lol

I included a pic of this connector that goes up to the switch on page 1 I believe.

Yes use the colors indicated. The red wire is the one that you want to cut and splice. You can use a soldering gun if you choose but I just strip the wire back and then put a small piece of shrink tubing on one of the wires and then twist the wires around each other so they lay flat rather than the way you would twist them to put on on a wire nut. so kinda lay the wires on each other so they make like an x and then twist each one in opposite directions. then slide the shrink tube over and heat up and you have a pretty solid connection. sorry i didnt see your post earlier but hope that clears it up for ya. let me know how it goes.
