The FX branding brings a glimmer of confidence to me.

No AM3 support for BD folks. How many times do we have to say it?

Will there be AM3+ chipsets supporting Bulldozer released to manufacturers in April?

Also, why do benchmarks not make financial sense? Wouldn't they stop people going to SB if they're good?

First thing is the AM3+ SOCKET that is required for bulldozer. The AM3 CHIPSET will work OK (there will be minor performance loss) so long as that board has an AM3+ socket so bulldozer will physically fit in the board (AM3+ has one more pin). MSI is already doing this... releasing new revisions of old AM3 chipset boards (i.e 890FX) with a AM3+ socket slapped on.

Second, just think about this... Would it be better for AMD to catch Intel off guard with bulldozer performance and force them to scramble to improve Ivy Bridge or to tell them early that... "Yeah, we've got a faster processor than you so here's an early tip off so you can get to work on besting us".

Furthermore, what do you think will happen to AMD sales NOW if they announe that bulldozer is way faster than Phenom II and will be here in 3 short months

Lots. A lot of people tend to skip over posts or forget things in a couple hours.

The reality is that the impact from stalling sales is much larger than the potential sales to be gained. Financially, releasing benchmarks is a bad financial decision. If we could actually make more money, don't you think that everyone would be doing it?

It is a standard practice in the industry. Now, you could say that we could leak it, but a leak is the exact same thing, it messes up the supply chain and costs you more than you make.

I don't need any benchmarks,I believe in the architecture and their approach.Just look at the current trends,Apple doesn't seem to have any doubt.
