ok, when this game is out.

Get 256 people on a server, than get everyone to meet in one spot and watch how the framerate will drop when everyone shoots.

256 mite be a bit insane for current technology

While the idea is awesome, that many players would certainly be quite a mess. If they could force people to work together (not sure how to do that) then I think it could be exciting. ALL those squads working for a bigger goals. Sounds sweet. Still, 64 players is going to rock!!

I am reaally reallllyyyy hoping that people in BF3 will be playing more like a team with squads sticking together, working etc. BFBC2 was amazing but RARELY if ever did I have a squad that worked together and it seemed no one had a mic / the mic system was never working. I grow quickly bored w it.

This is the main reason I still play CS:S. I've found a couple pubs where people all have mics and everyone talks and works together! It's a blast and a whole lot of fun. I really enjoy the "hanging out" aspect of it, even made a couple friends. So yeah, multiplayer games get boring to me without much human interaction.. but that might just be the extrovert in me.

I don't get why people think over 64 players is too much...maybe on a COD map. MAG worked great, and IMO looked good for a console FPS. MAG only worked because they had amazing coding for the network activity.

More players = more fun IMO(on a proportioned map)
Multiple attack points with multiple groups on each team which BF already has with the squads.

I dont think console players should worry too much about the 64 player PC limit.40 is a lot of players for console.

Only map i felt was too big for bc2 with 32 players on PC was harvest day, but considering the objectives were so closely placed it was alright.Took time getting to it .

So all depends on map design.32 players on PC for bc2 was just right.

Looking forward to 64 players and more vehicles.Should change game dynamics quite a bit depending on map.

How about the fact that with 256 players, you're either going to be doing a lot of running, or the map is going to be littered with APC, 4 wheelers and jeeps. Not to mention that unless you get 10 tanks, you're pretty much guaranteed to have someone out of 128 players on your team manning it that is going to rush with it and get it destroyed immediately.

The way the game works, you move small forces towards objectives. If you had this many people, you'd have to come up with some other kind of game modes. Can you picture the slaughter in a rush map when the mcom is set? Or conquest?

128 people firing on one or two locations in the map.

Alternately, having like 10 objectives requires lots of coordination for any kind of coherent offense/defense and would end up like a 32 man dustbowl server, with everyone trying really hard to accomplish nothing individually. I just don't see how it would work without a radically different map and game mode.

But if someone makes it work, kudos.
