As Conceivably Tech points out, both Google and Mozilla have recently petitioned users to update their drivers, citing increased crash occurrences thanks to outdated drivers choking at the sight of GPU acceleration.
For now, there’s a pretty simple solution to this problem: update you drivers! GPU acceleration is still a young feature for browsers, and the advanced web features that really thrive on hardware acceleration are barely creeping into the sites we visit every day. But what about two years from now? At that point, GPU acceleration may well be a necessary browser component, and the average computer user who knows nothing about drivers will be left in the lurch with a crashy browser.
Considering I've been using my 9.12 drivers for over a year now and haven't really had that many browser issues.
The only real issue I had was Flash crashing, and the recent flash updates fixed that.
