Too many variables that are beyond my control. For example, the odds of having to do a full reformat and reinstall windows increase when I pursue such a task.

Not to mention, I'd be giving up the guaranteed stability of my 9.12's.

I refuse to take that risk.

Back on Topic:

GPU Acceleration was horrible on Mozilla Beta 10, could stop lagging even on Folding@Home site. The improvement on Beta 11 was really refreshing as I'm using Nvidia's 266.58 drivers.

Offtopic:

Some drivers work while some create problems.
Nothing beats Creative in driver hassle in my book

Edit: frickfrock and other people have their his/her reasons and albeit a good one at that.

I have my own reason not to update
An unstable less than 128 kbps Internet prevent me to update regularly...
Well, sometimes use drivers on magz and stuff.

I'm using latest AMD drivers (always) and I don't like the way all of FF 4 builds behave one bit (especially when resizing the window). So far hardware acceleration sucks.

You act like all driver updates are a good thing. Half the time when I update it ends up being a bad thing. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Additionally, half the crap they fix in an update has nothing to do with me, it's often performance increases on games I won't even be playing.

Like Corky said earlier in the thread, there is literally no need to update if your performance is what you would expect and/or need, and you're stable.

I'm surprised there isn't automatic driver updates, since your average person doesn't even know what a driver is, thus never updates their drivers.

And this is mostly to mainstream users who have their 2006 Vista PC's with all the drivers and craplets that shipped with their PC's, not people here who use 5 month old drivers which is fine for MOST things minus some games.

Wow, disgusted is a strong word to use there. That's like saying if you own a car you better know how to repair it.

I hope you have a plumbing problem and get ripped off by a plumber
