There is. In FF with Adblock Plus installed just right click the image > Ablock Plus: Block Image > click top bullet for specific avatar > add filter. Done.

But you're probably using Chrome, which has shoddy ad-blocking at best.

Well, I can't get Internet Download Manager (IDM) to work properly with Chrome. Looks like I'm out. I could see myself switching to chrome, but not without support for idm!

There is not a huge difference between modern browsers, at least from my experiences. People who say otherwise seem to be exaggerating.

There is a huge difference between them. The people who say otherwise don't use very many addons to get the most out of their browsing. By "most" I mean gaining both additional functionality and ease of use.

edit: After thinking about that a minute, let me rephrase. There's enough difference in each browsers addons to make a difference between which browser people want to choose.

Adblock+ is still buggy, it finally stops them from downloading like FF's Adblock+ but flash videos (aka youtube) still don't work on a regular basis.

I either don't get the ad and the video works fine or I don't get anything and the video is just black.

must be cause its an underdog of a underdog huh?

in windows i was using the ff4 beta, till recently, when it just began to become increasingly slow starting up, opening additional tabs, loading pages...so i just installed it and went back to chrome.

in linux i use chromium, FF 3 or 4 in linux is absolutely hideous, as they put much more effort into the windows port of it, than they do of the linux one, even tried once or twice to see if i could "compile" some "goodness" into it, but that wasn't happening...

i've liked chrome since its launch, even without many extensions for it, i wasn't worried as i often didn't use any for FF...

this latest release seems good so far...i do wish they'd slow down on the version numbering, its getting kinda wild to keep track of it in git

Yeh same with me, but it only happens rarely.

I really want firefox to come back into the game because they have been the backbone for everyone for a long time.

But like the mass of posts here, i have been using Chrome dev since version 9 and have not gone back to FF3 or FF4 beta.

1. Chrome has a fantastic sync feature with all my bookmarks and extensions that i can pass to any computer just by login in.
2. Its fast to start up and browse, including notorious flash games that now lag in FF.
3. It gives more screen space with its design (Yeh, i know you can do it on FF, and i did, but it needs 2 or 3 plugins and still does not remove the title bar).

I love Opera on mobile, but for PC, i really want FF to get back to the top. And Chrome has won me for now.

I tried Chrome 10 after months of using Firefox 4 beta, and it's quite a lot faster - when it actually works that is.
I have a re-occuring seemingly random issue where the page will not load, I'll try to load a page using link/bookmark/address bar and it just sits on Loading, the only fix is to try to load the page again until it works - this issue doesn't happen on Firefox and I found alot of forum posts etc of people with the same issue.
Considering that issue, which I can't find a working fix for - Firefox is faster than Chrome (for me).

Also to all you no script guys. There is only 2 ways to present client side updates(well 3 if you count Java applets). There is javascript and flash. No matter how many buzz words you throw out there, ajax, html5, etc, it still always comes down to javascript. Flash is going away eventually at least for rich content sites.

That leaves you with just javascript as a client side language. As sites and web applications(as programs move to the web) get richer and richer you get poorer and poorer by using no script.

Good luck
Right, because they block every sites scripts.

I block any sites I don't know nor visit, for example, OCN is unblocked, but say, yahoo is blocked as I never go there and the only reason a Yahoo thing would be on a website would be A) A script I won't use anyway or B) Ads.

And the Adblock plus for Chrome is still no-where near as good as Firefox's version, I know, I use both.
