ROG or Deluxe

Thread Starter
So I am currently in a delemma of trying to decide what motherboard would be best for my situation. At present I have no intention of going 3way SLI and only intend on doing modest OC up to 4.7 max. Wanting the best, I have been focusing my attention on the Maximus Extreme, but good luck getting that. Now I am looking at the P8P67 Deluxe as a viable alternative, however, I have never really done any overclocking before and do not know what is the best.

Anyway, please let me know what you guys think would be the best options.

Currently I plan on a build based around

intel 2600k
nVidea GTX 285
Corsair H70
Lian Li PC-B25FW
Crucial 128GB SSD
WD Raptor 1TB

One of the things that I am thinking about as an advantage to the deluxe is $100 difference that can be applied to a better graphics card, as well as having standard PCI slots for better sound card options.

Thx for any and all input

Im a fan of RoG series. Those boards are so easy to overclock. I had the Maximus III Gene. It auto unlocked the x22 multi on my i7 and I didnt need to enable HT for that. They also have a nice built X-fi sound chip that is a lot better than the normal on board audio. My vote goes to the ME.

umm all p67's overclock well, dont waste your money on the deluxe or maximus unless you really need their extra features, or you're in love with the looks

asrock and biostar p67's are solid alternatives for ~$150, take the savings and upgrade your gpu or something

better gpu will help more than a fancy board.
