How horribly obvious are the EVGA parts? If you have to take off the cooler to see them, you might still have a chance at RMA. Since they've been out of the Nvidia market for a while there's a chance that the techs aren't familiar with them anymore and might just plug in the card, doesnt work, so they trash it.

Baking the card might also work, though I've got no experience trying it.

& Venom, try upping your voltage to the next mark, see if it still happens.

none of the PCB's are the XFX ones if they check model numbers then they will know
