Advice on a new card!

I have a Auzentech X-Fi Bravura but its not what i was expecting so will i notice anything by getting a X-Fi Forte with the C20k processor (real x-fi one)?
Maybe. I haven't heard a CA0110 or CA0116 card in a while but it's definitely not as powerful as the real X-Fi chip. If you have good ears and good headphones, then you might get better positioning out of it.

Not sure I'd want to buy a Forte though.

I'm sure RallyMaster will agree that if you want X-Fi you should grab the Titanium HD.

i have the HD595 from Sennheiser and Logitech Z2300 but i really like sound quality if i can get a bit more then i will go with the Forte. I prefer the Auzentech drivers the creative ones are weird... And i need Phone amp i believe the Titanium HD lacks that...

While Auzentech drivers are typically better than Creative drivers, the Titan HD is the better card especially for the price.

Also, the HD595s don't need an amp, so you won't be benefiting from it.

Bravura should be enough for your gaming needs. Music on the other hand is a different thing and Xonar does that better than Auzentech and Creative.

What are you disappointed with and what is the ratio of gaming/music you do?

I would see if you can sell the Bravura and get most of your money back, then buy the Titan HD.

Maybe you could try tweaking your current settings as well. Also, what kind of music are you listening to with the 595s? Could simply be that you don't enjoy the sound of your headphones.

well i do game a lot, and the rest of the time i just am on msn or the forum with a radio station tab open.

PS: just updated to the latest drivers (was really outdated lol) mess around with the settings and it sounds a lot better! though any upgrade from here i think its the Xonar Essence ST/STX... Forte is not worth it.... my concern was more about games but what games use EAX now a days? none or very close to that... Thanks for all the input guys

Out of curiosity what don't you like about the Bravura? I did a lot of research before I bought mine and decided not to get an x-fi card because a) almost no modern games use EAX and b) almost no games use x-ram. Not to sound like a fanboy for the Bravura but I think that what it lacks (EAX 5, x-ram) is made up for by its working grounding (unlike the Forte), stable drivers, and amazing headphone amp with a full 1/4" jack.

Forte uses a C20k2 chip and Bravura does not so it makes it a Software based card and the Forte a Hardware one. Forte is the better card all around the thing is for an upgrade when you have a Bravura maybe I will not notice anything...
