4850 fan control

Thread Starter
I got my XFX HD-485X-ZNFC Radeon HD 4850 but I can't control the speed? Is there a fix to controlling the fan speed in CCC? The one I have read requires me to make a new profile in CCC, but I don't see the option to make one anywhere on CCC. confused.gif I'm probably just blind though.

Also I am using windows 7 64 bit and the latest CCC.

Fixed the fan problem, but now I have another issue. When I try to overclock my card in CCC or MSI Afterburner the clock speeds reset to default after trying to apply higher speeds. Anyone have any idea how I can at least try to overclock the damn thing? confused.gif

I don't like using CCCthat much tongue.gif ...i use MSI afterburner

http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/

Disable CCC if you want to OC with MSI afterburner. I had to... But maybe there is a way to make both of them co-exist...i just can't help you with that...

In MSI-A you just need to drag the Core clock bar to the right and then hit apply at the bottom.

I got MSI afterburner working. biggrin.gif Can you recommend a good app to test the stability of my card? I am trying GPU tool but it just crashes on start up so I can't even try it frown.gif

ATI tool is said to be the best, but i think you should try your OC while gaming, that would be the best test imo. Some heavy games like Crysis. If you don't see artifacts, or BSOD's, your OC is fine smile.gif

I just bought the same card! XFX HD-485X-ZNFC . How did you get MSI Afterburner to work? The clocks keep resetting themselves.

Did you deactivate CCC? you can't have 2 apps with access to the cards clocks functioning at the same time...

What steps are you taking to OC the card? Also, for clocks higher than 700 it will probably crash...

i have CCC and mdi ab open and functional together.
It may help if you OC with MSI but leave the OC options locked on CCC.

I got my clocks stable at 717/994 with ATI Tray Tools. I uninstalled CCC and use MSI AB for fan control. Idk why but I can't use msi ab for overclocking, only fan control. Oh well. Thanks guys biggrin.gif
