No Unlocked Cores, Trying to OC now - Page 2

Thread Starter
I just lowered the HT and CPU NB speed down to normal and raised CPUf to 241. Now it turns on, goes to POST screen and hangs I need to figure out how to manually reset bios.

Before my temps were around 40 C.

Are u running the stock cooler?....Look for something like RAM ratio in the bios and lower it, doing so will slow the ram and add a bit of stability...worth a try.

Also what voltage are you at?

OC one of the "speeds" only.
Either CPU only, or NB only, RAM only... etc.
Lower multipliers of everything else to keep them at stock or below, while one clock is being pushed.
After that is done, leave it as it is and bring the multipliers up of everything else (except HT link, you want to keep that around 2000Mhz)
Makes it much easier.

I tried to keep my HT and CPUNB at stock and got BSOD then had to reset Bios manually to even get it to post. Any ideas on why that happened?

After that I tried raising the Core Volts and haven't had much luck. My temps seem to be low. According to CPUID Hardware monitor my CPU temp is 46C

I just set my core voltage to 1.46 for stability at 238. Running stress test now.

xd: when I up my cpuf bios adjusts my HT and NB times automatically. When i tried to lower them to stock I couldn't get it to post.

Sorry for double post.

does that mean you are now running your HT and cpu nb at 2380Mhz?? that might be a little high for the HT, could cause instability.

No...don't increase the HT-link that just increases instability, the ones you want to raise are:

CPU Freq, RAM Freq and CPU-NB

But as XD said do one at a time, keeping the rest close to stock, then move on to the next one.

I recommend doing the cpu and cpu-nb together, then work on the ram speeds and timings.

Thanks for the help. I will try to lower the HT and NB speeds tonight. I wasn't able to keep it stable with CPUf @ 234 last night. I should mention that the main reason I want to OC is to raise my settings to play games. Mainly Starcraft 2.
