Echo Special Characters in DOS

is it possible to print <>|%^ ect... in dos

I tried print the line below and get "The syntax of the command is incorrect."

echo.

Try putting the special characters in quotes. I'd even include a space before and after the special character. Example -
echo. " % "

If it still won't do it, then there's no way that I'm aware of.

i'v tried that and output would print with the Double-Quote which is not acceptable for what i'm doing.

execute:
echo. ""

output:
""


EDITED:
i've been hammering my brain out for half a day and i finally figured what i did wrong. I was simply too lazy i guess. the escape carat (^) is used to to echo all odd characters.

instead of:
echo.^

i've been bypassing the second escape as below which will not work.:
echo.^

notice i missed 2nd ^ at the end.
