Seagate bought Maxtor... then used Maxtor branding on Seagate drives with lower warranties.... and then retired the name.

Where are you going to buy Maxtor drives? Don't bother..... it can't be worth it.
Once again...

The only Maxtor drives you'll find these days are used and/or refurbished ones. They're not made anymore. Bought out by Seagate a few years ago, as previously stated. So why even both with a used and outdated hdd? Grab a Samsung F3 already. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152185

I don't think you can buy brand new maxtor harddrive any more because seagate bought maxtor.

I have one hard drive from maxtor though its 10 year old now still working on my old computer with out single problem.
