WD Raptor Won't Boot, Clicking Sound - Page 2

I would double check it in another computer. One time I had a power supply go on me and it did exactly that. Worked enough to power on but couldn't handle the large draw of the drive spinning up. Would begin spinning up, click, stop, repeat.

You can't fix it, but if you need any data off it.

1. Place HDD in plastic bag.
2. Put in freezer overnight.
3. Hook it up(preferrably an external usb enclosure)
4. Power up
5. Locate and recover files(do this quickly)

It sounds silly but it works.
