should fit thouhg 7/16 ID are a tight fitting tube, thats what my sizes are; you may need to loosen up the ends of the tube by placing the end in some hot water.

Compression fittings aren't meant to be stretched like that, so while it might technically be able to be coaxed on top of the fitting and collared, I'd say the simple answer is "no". Barbs you can get away with this as it's keeping the tubing on via a means of friction from the metal ridges instead of compressing the tubing up against the collar.

You can always try it though.

in my expirience by placing the tubes in hot water too loosen them up helps putting them on the barbs, having said that once they cool down they do harden up and hug the fitting pretty tightly so no real stretching or damage is being done

Right, but he was asking about compression fittings which are engineered for a specific diameter. Compression fittings don't have the ridges found on barbs to keep the tubing on, but instead use a collar to press the tube firmly against the fitting inner sleeve. I don't honestly know first-hand what the drawbacks would be by trying to force a 7/16" onto a 1/2" compression fitting would be, but have read many times that it's not suggested.

Hopefully the OP will have no issues with this.

I believe they will fit... tubing OD matches compression OD, so... I'll let you know when I get them.

I have 7/16 x 5/8 primochill tube on... crazy idea, 7/16 x 5/8 bitspower compression fittings. Works great no leaks. Not sure why you wanted to go 1/2 x 5/8 as there is no benefit. Hope it works out for you, but I fear that you might be stretching the tube wall so much that it thins out enough to cause a slow leak or pull free over time. Just a guess though.

Can you give more detail on why you wanted to go this route? just curious, not trying to bash or flame.

That was a mistake =/

I guess I'll purchase 1/2 tubing to match the fittings... they are much more cheaper than Bitspower fittings.

Thank you
