hell ya dude, I bought 100ft. of550 paracord for $20 from my local army/ barracks, check a store near you cuz then you wont have to wait for shipping. no regrets here, I'm sure you won't have any either.

its probably best to stick with one brand because they are all of different quality and materials.

paracord is available in a bunch of different colors despite what the comparison chart says. I got mine in sky blue

Hey question for ya, is there a noticeable difference between 450 and 550 parachute? Some people say that 450 looks better for sleeving... Hmm... I have a harder time finding the colors I want in 450.

I cant really say, I've only used the 550 because army barracks didnt have my desired color in the 450 otherwise I would have gone with the 450, but the 550 still looks legit and it was relatively easy to sleeve.

oh! and thanks for being my first! I'm glad I could finally lose my rep-ginity

Haha no problem, helpful post deserve a rep.

On Topic: What kind of heatshrink did you use with your 550 parachute wire. I am looking for white heatshrink specifically, might have to go to my local hardware store if I can't find any cheap online.
hahaha now that is even a mystery to me. I'm not actuallly sure, my dad got me a misc. wiring kit one year and its came with a couple feet of different sized stuff which I've been using ever since. you could probably pick some up at you local hobby or electronic store, to be on the safe side you should prabably get a couple feet plus it never hurts to have extra for wire repairs and the like.

one more thing that might prove helpful.

when you go to the electronic store, bring a piece of your paracord with you, then find the smallest heatshrink that will still fit over the paracord. that way you can have the tightest cleanest looking heatshrink.

Since I have the HAF-X I am planning on going with red, black and white sleevling and white heat shrink I am thinking.

Where is the best place to pick up colored sleevling? Mdpc the only place that sells "Decent" colored sleeving?
I am thinking I will pick up the black sleeving from furry letters but he doesn't offer any other colors does he?

I really don't want to pay oversees shipping so is there a seller in the United States that is decent that sells colored sleeving?

Would really appreciate an answer.
http://www.overclock.net/other-hardw...-sleeving.html

I dunno about heat shrink tubing for Paracord but I know that if you find it, Barry (FurryLetters) sells 3:1 ratio heat shrink tubing which is great for sleeving but I know he sells it in 3/16th but I don't know off hand about any other diameters unless it's in the tread.

Also, Barry does have dense weave colored sleeving (currently only white, blue, black but he said he's going to order some red). That may be an alternative.

Also, if you'll check the link the first post for my last post with pictures, I've put Techflex Clean Cut, the new dense weave and Kobra sleeving together so you can see how they all look.

Also D.S.L - Thats a great idea, if furry doesn't work out for heatshrink I will definitely take that paracord to the store and make sure it fits before I buy!!!
