Dragon Age 2 DirectX11 & Problems.

Thread Starter
I am currently running Dragon age 2, besides the horrifically misnamed "Hard Mode" which is about as easy as shoving a fist into a apple, I am having a problem with lag, and attacking.

My problem with lag is:

1) Lag for the first 10 minutes, I average around 13fps.

It seems to only last a little while, then goes away, and it only lags while using DX11.

I am also having a SERIOUS problem with attacking.

When attacking out of nowhere I can no longer attack enemies, I can hover my mouse over them, but there is no option to attack them randomly..

the only way to fix is to randomly press pause, or randomly press the Hold or Free button.

Is anyone else having this problem because I have searched the web for around 15 minutes and found no help, nor anyone else having this problem.

I had this problem on the Demo as well.

Any suggestions are welcome to the solving of these problems.

If you are using Nvidia graphics card/s you need to go grab the latest beta drivers from Nvidia's website, while it's downloading fill in your system specs.

Thanks man, amazing that thought ran threw my mind, and I just finished the large download.

I figured nVidia would not upgrade the drivers, but it's nice to know they care, and that they still care about the 400 series even though the focus is on the new 500.

Well this may fix the problem with lag, and maybe even fix the problem attacking (not likely).

I will report on the success or lack there of momentarily.

-Thanks.

frown.gif I don't know. I had the problem with the textures as well but the updated drivers fixed that for me. If you have SSAO on you might try turning that off as it seems really demanding, but that's just a guess. I have no idea on the inability to target. headscratch.gif

So far it would seem the best we can do is install the beta nvidia drivers available. I expect the WHQL drivers will be better and/or bioware will issue a patch quite soon.

The triangles are tesselation failures, that am assposeda be fixed with the beta drivers. Someone said that SSAO can cause that fail, but I didn't see that from anything official.

I am also having absolutely terrible performance. I hope either a patch or driver fix comes out soon.... it can't happen soon enough for me.
