I will Pay for a Q if its around 100-150 depending on what type it is, same with a i7 920's, I don't want to fork out alot for those either sinse the sandy bridge is so cheap compaired to what people want for the old tech. I see it as they try to sell it for high money so they can just do the transfer without forking out extra money, which doesn't seem fair if you think about it, why should the customer pay more for the seller to upgrade to something new and not have them pay a cent while they got years of use out of there CPU's.

while I do agree with you more or less... $100 bucks for i7 920 D0 would be VERY hard to come by.. I think they still have alot of number crunhing power left in them.. So if you see one for that price snag it up A.S.A.P. or I will $180.00 is the average sale price atm...

I understand socket 775/DDR2 people who has a Dual Core, or a very low end Quad, and motherboard are crippling the FSB.

It is alot easier to drop in a higher-end Quad Core than to upgrade their whole system. And those Q9550/9650's and up are still very good CPU's when overclocked.

But the price must not get totally out of hand
