budget build for a friend "opinions please" :)

hey guys!

i'm building a system for my friends dad and i want your opionions.

the specs are:

Mobo: Asus P7H55-M "i chose this over the msi and gigabyte because it's the only one with passive cooling for the power phase things"

Cpu : i3-540 3.06 GHz with HD graphics

Ram : Apogee 2×2 GB 1333 MHz

Case : ThermalTake V3 Black Edition "they say it's a mid-tower case but i've seen it in reality, and it doesn't give the impresstion of a mid-tower AT ALL"

Power supply comes with the case so i think it's enough for that system. "if you have other thoughts, let me know please."

the reason i chose these parts because it's a budget build, and for basic stuff...

this is the cheapest case i could find big enough to contain an aftermarket cooler. and btw, do i need an aftermarket cooler? i assumed i do because as i've learned that hyper threading does run pretty high and probably the stock cooler isn't good enough. i could be wrong though.

p.s no need for an hdd or an optical drive, as these already exist in the older rig.

No need for an aftermarket cooler unless you're overclocking a lot. A friend of mine runs his at 4.2GHz on the stock one. Also the Gigabyte and MSI boards don't need the cooling on the power circuitry from my experience. I had some crappy 60mm fans over mine and was able to get 4.6 stable and 5.06 for superpi on my i3 540 and a Gigabyte H55m-D2H. Not saying that board isn't a good choice, just that I wouldn't let that make my descision if I were you. Could you post links to the products on whatever site you'd be buying from and what country they'd be delivered to please? It'd make helping you out easier.
And regarding the PSU, unless it's absolutely horrendous it'll be fine. I doubt that system will draw 100 Watts so anything will do (assuming you're not putting a graphics card in and you're using the integrated GPU)

Hopefully someone else can help as I'm going out but take a look at the Xigmatek Asgard, it's a great case for the money and it's pretty cheap

Hi Evanescencelover
how are you
Yeah that build should do just fine for most things other than intense gaming. Word processing/internet browsing should be no sweat. Also yeah, no aftermarket cooler unless overclocking, and in most cases, as long as the voltage doesn't go up much, the stock cooler should be able to handle an overclock of 200MHz or even more.

But despite the overclocking advise, that system should be able to handle daily tasks as well as a bit of light gaming.

Okay, no aftermarket HS. Probably there won't be any overclocking.. AND I'M REALLY SURPRISED BY THE CLOCKS YOU HIT WITH THE STOCK!

As for the mobo, i don't know.. i just don't like boards that look bald! I have to say i'm more of an MSI, but when i saw that H55, i was like HELL NO! "same applies for the gigabyte"
I live in Syria. The parts aren't being delivered, they're already in the market. And i'm going with what's the best in the market.

I have the option of those 2 mother boards "P7H55" and "P7H55-m" i'm guessing the "P7H55-m" is the better one.

Here's a link of some of the mobos that we have here:

http://www.cec-co.net/products/134.html

The "p7h55-m" is the fifth one.

And this is a link of some of the products that we have in here. "the things you need are in English"

http://www.cec-co.net/products

As for the case, this is the cheapest one i found as i have said. We don't have a lot of fancy chassis in here and they're a bit expensive.

Just one more thing, how good is the intel HD graphics? and can you play some games in let's say 1440×900?

Thank you for your help.
