Sony F11 NVIDIA 330M

Ok, I'm new to this OCing stuff. I have the Sony VPCF115FM laptop with the NVIDIA 330M and 1 gig ram on it. I mostly do photo work...yes I know..you got a LAPTOP?...but I do. I have used the NVIDIA Performance and have it currently set at
GPU 730 Mem 915 Shader 1515

all confirmed by GPU-Z. What I think is interesting is that if I look at the sensors and also look at the NVIDIA System Monitor that the settings are

GPU 405 Mem 324 and Shader 810.

Temp is 45C. Why is it downgrading my stuff? I have the latest drivers from Sony 8.6.11.8867. I read other places not to use the NVIDIA drivers off the site because of Sony not supporting them?

What's the deal? Why is it being underclocked from what I set?

Thanks!!

get the newest and usually the best drivers directly from nvidia but first remove the old ones (see sig for proper driver removal).

THEN, once those are installed, dont worry to much. i'd betcha its downlocking during less demanding times to conserve power. evga precision would be my recommended tool of choice, along with gpu-z

How can I prevent this "power save mode" then? Or is this a bad idea on a laptop?

meh no real point in stopping it, it kicks right up when you need it. run a heaven benchmark and keep cpuz open. evga precision has live time monitoring (dunno if xpu-z does) and see for yerself.
