Well out of spite I went out and bought a 1k PSU to see if it was a power issue which it wasn't so I am 100% positive my CPU is bottlenecking and holding back my performance. I am going to upgrade to an i7 2600k within the neck few weeks so that should solve all of my problems, thank you guys for your help.

In Crossfire I get exact frames of a single card or even 2-3 FPS loss, I have tested both cards in Crossfire, as singles with crossfire disabled and separate 1 at a time in the case to see if there was a damaged card, they both work fine.

I have run Unigine Heaven in Crossfire and it scales 2.0x (200%) in that so I know there is nothing physically wrong with them or the system and they work perfectly so what could my problem be with Crysis, am I over looking something or does something need to be enabled that I am not seeing?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Unigine Heaven

Crossfire On 38.1 FPS
Crossfire Off 19.0 FPS

Specs

CPU-Z
GPU-Z

Results

Crossfire 48.48 FPS
Card 1 49.72 FPS
Card 2 51.47 FPS
I get the same thing. CPU bottleneck with my 1055t at 3.5GHz. It uses only 2 cores. Check you GPU usage with MSI afterburner. I will be only at 50% on both cards.

You can either crank the resolution or add AA as crazy and your FPS will stay the same.

I posted the same issue before. What's you CPU?

I noticed that, AA increase provides no performance loss.

It is a Phenom II X4 940 @ 3708MHz, 1.5v. I will also try this afterburner thing and report back.

Yep on both GPU's it goes in between 45-57% so I am absolutely at a bottleneck with this CPU.

Well AMD I think it is time we part ways.

I wouldn't regard the 6870 as a high end card. Maybe high mid-range but not high end.

Also it's crysis, it's has been that way for a long time for AMD/ATi cards, but it has been said warhead works so much better and so does Crysis 2.

But to make a sensationalist claim like "u cant pair an AMD CPU with 2X high end card's.

just doesn't work :/"

is just a load of cods wallop.

Core i7's Dominate in Muti-GPu Enviorment's.

Therfore phenom's have problems handling more then 1 GPU
