Push-Pull simply means installing two cooling fans—one on each side of the Hydro Series H50’s radiator unit – as opposed to simply using one fan. The first fan therefore ‘pushes’ air through the radiator’s cooling fins, while the other ‘pulls’ air through from the other side, hence the name. The combined effect of both 120mm fans results in increased airflow over the radiator’s cooling fins, which in turn results in more efficient dissipation of heat and hence lower CPU temperatures. To ensure that the fans do not compete with each other, it’s important to use two identical fans, or two fans with similar airflow characteristics.

Sorry I'm very bad at english so I don't know whta oyu mean by intake. Do you want me to use both fans to blow air on the radiator or what? Can you explain with easier words? I got 48 CFM (NOCTUA NF-P12-1300) and the stock Corsair one and I don't know what CFM that one got. Maybe I got problem with my h50

No.I only have 1 fan installed which is the stock h50 fan. I was too excited to install it, I put it backwards. The fan is installed on the case then the radiator. So it was blowing air going out. The air is coming from inside the case So it's not blowing anything to the radiator but instead, It's sucking from it. I have it setup like that and I'm getting 38-42C on idle. Seems pretty impressive coz that's about the same temp as air cooling.

My i7-930 with H50 (push/pull) usually is at 35-40c at idle and just ran a P95 blend and it topped out at 70c.

I remember when I first built my rig during summertime and the H50 was maybe a few days old on the computer and temps were around 90F in my room and my P95 temps were higher than now. Ambient and curing time matters.

So reading through this entire thread.

OP you really need to listen to what people have told you to do.

we have told you to do a full load test on your setup.

somebody suggested lapping the H50

we also need to know how much thermal paste you put on the unit when you replaced it.
not really sure why you replaced the paste, the stock paste that comes with the H50 is way better then AS5.

so you need to post this

full load temps.
example of how much paste you applied, picture of actual paste on your CPU if possible
and a picture of your fans if possible.

I draw a pic how the fans were setup. Exactly like that the air blows. I've also said what my load temps were and they were around 75.

I applied very little thermal paste, like a rice grain and I made sure i didnt lift the cooler when I did tighten the screws.

At stock settings, those tempertures are too high. You have the right set up going on though.. not sure what's causing the high temperatures. What CFM are the fans rated at?

yea those temps are too high for stock settings. Where is the H50 pump plugged in. make sure that fan header is set to 100%. otherwise you will have reduced flow and really bad perfromance.

It's plugged in @ the PWR_FAN and before I had it in the CPU_FAN. Both run at the same speed so no difference.

One fan run at 1300 RPM and the other one I dont know. It's the h50 stock one.

I was told by a friend that these temps are normal becaue i7 950's run hot and my gtx 480's really just makes everything in my case really hot.

I will try with different fans and then I'm done with it.
