Highly doubtful. From the looks of their products they just buy them from an actual manufacturer and slap their label on them.

Not true. CM buys a lot of their products from actual manufacturer's and place their own labels on them. Logisys and Apevia do that for all of their products. They don't make ANY PSU's at all. Plus, a few of the CM PSU's are actually pretty good. Of course Antec and Corsair does the same thing with their PSU's so that isn't always a bad thing. It's just that quite often some of the brands like CM, Logisys, and Apevia get a lot of their products from lower quality manufacturer's while Corsair and Antec tend to get more of theirs from higher quality ones although they have their clinkers as well..

More like not bad to average.. and if you want a different example I'll use raidmax not all of their psus are horrid junk.

I have seen every component from PSUs to hard drives to CPUs come from the factory DOA, so it's no surprise. Pray it didn't take anything else with it.

The last Raidmax RX-530SS I had lasted all of 1 1/2 years. I will never buy one again.

They have to count the +5VSB and -12V to get to 850W; and they require a ridiculous amount of +5V and +3.3V power to get there too. It might make an ok 750W, assuming that it isn't grossly overrated. Which seeing as how they had to count the +5VSB and -12V, may not be unlikely.

They won't be a top brand as long as they pull that crap.

Corsair doesn't really have any bad units at the moment though... Silverstone's been pretty steady as well. The Antec you are talking about weren't bad minus they died quickly to having Fuhjyyu caps.

How can that happen?

1. Too much load ???? - OCP didn't kicked in.

2. Bad manufacturing (weak parts) design, short circuitry,
jarring(severe vibration during shipping), "blame it on the rain" thing.

Same PSU that I'm using but doubt if it will suffer the same fate.
