lol at work

so i work in a movie theater and i was up in the projection room today. Its all digital in our theater so there is alot of computers and servers up there. We have recently had alot of movies freezing up and blue screening on us. Its funny but costly. The tech guys come in move some stuff did noting really and left. I told my manager that i would love to take a look at the hardware to see if i notice anything. I recommended that the computers flip the fans around that are in the front. Pull from the back push out the front. This works to great success, my manager was happy and no more freezing up. As i said i was up there today and man is it ever hot up there. Now i understand why the techs had the heat all inside the cases XD

just thought i would share a success story from work about fans

Nice job! I probably would have given you a raise because you know how dumb tech people can be, they probably would have never figured that out. xDD

Funny how a little common sense and know how works . Man I wish I could get at the hardware at my workplace, we're still using Pentium 3's and 4 at work >_< If they let me upgrade the hardware I'd be nerdgasm'ing everywhere.

I find myself surprised at just how dumb a lot of techs can be, great success story sorry you didn't get a raise.

meh i got alot of respect from my boss.... which in reality is all it comes down to. Besides if i had my way with those machines two things would happen.... first it would caost way to much XD and second well it might get sticky after im done XD

@Bigfrank: well i already get free popcorn and movies and as for candy... well when i work there is always a bag that gets broken and we cant sell to guests

@Kratthew: Yea i know i didnt get to do anyting but change fans however is was kinda cool to see what there version of a 15k server is up there XD. i was like ummm my rig can do that then some XD it wasnt even more then 4 cores!!!!

@Joel: i know i spoke with one on the phone when they were fixxing our tills.... it was upsetting to think he gets paid 56$ an hour to do his job. I actually facepalmed infront of my manager when he told me to try altf4 for minimizing the menu XD. it was so funny
