RMA or am I doing something wrong?!

Firstly, I apologize for if this is a mere annoyance... I am new to this.

I followed one of the 'overclocking guides for beginners', to the T and everything seemed to be working fine until I ran a performance test in 3DMark 11 Basic..

The first attachment was the result..

I have read elsewhere that this is a sign that the GPU should be RMA'd.

Thoughts on this??

The same thing has happens while playing Just Cause 2 with near default settings, after about 5 minutes. By near default I mean that I had the MSI Control Center running with the "Game" feature selected.

Upon following the overclocking guide I followed the instructions to run GPUTool and slowly increase my speeds until I noticed artifacting. With the same card and same drivers I cannot exceed approx. 820 on my core clock without noticing the yellow dots.

I saw you were close to 900. What is the deal?

I have also included a screen shot with hopefully all the info you guys would need.

I have searched for a few days now and cant stop wondering if the GPU is defective.

Thanks in advance and would greatly appreciate any feedback.

Want to ensure I can get this puppy sent back if need be.

Im sure I am missing some info, but I ran MSI's Live update and all drivers are up to date as far as I can tell.

Thanks again!

Is the same thing happening when the card is not overclocked?

To my knowledge, yes.

If I am correct when assuming that when Afterburner and the Control Center are not running ( I did not check the box "Apply at startup" ) it still happens.

Should I try to uninstall these programs and see what happens?? I do not think this would make a difference but if someone does then please let me know and I will give it a whirl.

Thanks again for the replies..

I would just reinstall Windows to be completely sure. And if it doesn't help rma it.
