Easily the HP ZR24W. The U2410 has much too much input lag. I consider the HP ZR24W to be better than the U2410 in all aspects tbh.

The U2410 has better color though right.

I mean it has a wider color gamut. Is this noticeable in games?

seems like I have to trade color gamut for lower input lag.

ugh

Wide gamut color space is no use in gaming. All games, web and mainstream media are produced in sRGB color space. Unless you do your own design work or photo editing, you won't have any practical use for it.

so HP ZR24W is better, which meaning that you can see some input lag on the u24.

Gotcha, so the colors will only be noticeably better when doing things that use a wider color gamut.

How about black levels? I hear its possible to calibrate the ZR24W for good black levels but not without sacrificing gamma.

Sorry I'm a nub at this stuff (former TN panel fool)

Also, is it a glossy panel or a matte panel?

I don't have any experience with the ZR24W, but black levels are considered one of the few weaknesses of the U2410.

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/hp_zr24w.htm

I think people really blow input lag out of proportion. Even in this review, the difference between the two monitors suggests only 4ms difference between the two and i'd be hard pressed to see someone tell the difference if they didn't read it online.

I use a 2001FP, by most accounts, a very old LCD and game on it fine. (16ms response time, who knows what the IL is on top of that)

More or less, the two monitors are virtually identical for non-professional purposes and it really comes down to availability and price. In this case, it looks like the HP wins out.
