I never understood that whole "pwned for life" bit because even once you update a jailbroken iDevice to the next official firmware, you still have to wait for the next jailbreak to be released to install Cydia and everything. So as far as I know, the answer to your question is yes. Restoring wipes everything.

thanks for that smile.gif.

i think the idea is that it can be jailbroken but i don't know. takes them ages to release the jailbreaks anyways unless you're on a mac...

nothing in this release for me.

Yeah I believe jailbreak is loaded in the memory, Im not sure how it works. But I do know this. It is IMPOSSIBLE to brick an idevice via jailbreaking.

Enter iPad DFU Mode
Quote:
Here’s what you’ll need to do:

Plug the iPad into your computer
Launch iTunes
Hold down the Power button and the Home button at the same time
Keep holding both of these buttons for 10 seconds
After 10 seconds pass, release the Power button but continue to hold the Home button for another 3-5 seconds
When in DFU mode, your iPad screen will stay completely black. If you see an Apple logo or otherwise you did not enter DFU mode
iTunes will notify you that it has detected a device in recovery mode

The greatest change in this is allowing the side switch on the iPad to lock orientation again. Finally.
