*Possible Spoilers* After Completing Dragon Age 2....

I don't think I've revealed any plot points, etc. But if you want to be super save, obviously don't read unless you've finished the game.

So I finished DA2, and while it was an overall good game, I'm left feeling a little disappointed.

My biggest problem was the lack of areas/zones/etc. Call them whatever you want. I think that basing the game pretty much entirely in one city was a mistake. After playing through the first couple hours, I thought to myself "I really hope this game leaves this city eventually". Obviously, I found out that I was wrong. It reminded me a lot of Mass Effect 2, in that the entire game was about your team missions. To me, both games were like if Super Mario Bros consisted of the first level. Sure you have pipes and clouds to explore, but the bulk of the game is in the same area.

The second thing, was the plot. I'll try not to reveal anything, but again stop reading if you are unsure. To me the plot felt disjointed and lacking. At the end, I thought to myself as to how I got from the beginning to the end. I was a little confused by the whole story-telling point and those involved in that. I understand that the game is in multiple acts, but I think that could have been handled much better. And I think this issue is an effect of the first problem listed above.

It's always much easier to point out the bad in something. It's just that at the end of DA:O I was left with a "woah" feeling, and that didn't seem to be the case with this one.

How long was your play time? I just finished DA:O at 32 hours and get to start on Awakening tonight. I would've looked for this in your post, but I definitely want to avoid any potential spoilers.

Actually, both if you know off the top of your head. But mainly DA2.

My DA:O was about 37 hours. DA2 was about 15. Bioware did say that 2 was going to be shorter, so that doesn't really surprise me.

Mm.. I really enjoyed DA:O. Beat it in 14 hours (all nighter) the first time, then spent another 300+ hours figuring everything out I missed the first run. I had a horrible feeling DA2 would be in 1 city... I'll just have to wait it out before I buy it I guess.
