Unless NVIDIA do something, SLI won't be supported. And since when could 2 different NVIDIA cards pair up? Never.. If 590+580 SLI doesn't work, this won't either

I want this card. I don't have the money to spend on a 'banging' board. My board only has 1x PCI-E 16x slot. I usually get cards just to run game decently and a single card that can do this is fine for me. The aspect of having 'SLI' on my PC is pretty kwl. I have no intention to upgrade other components other than the video card until doing so would make me personally feel that this would stop lag in games more than a new gcard. This is a viable option for me, cheaper than the 580 and 590. I really can't wait until these are available in Australia.

No offense but what you are saying makes absolutely no sense and you will be stuck swindled out of your money as well as high and dry later when you upgrade. If you don't have the money for a better setup, how do you have $430-$450 to spend on this dead-end card?
You are entitled to your opinion and i honor that, but that is illogical IMO. I'm just saying this to give you my perspective.

You do understand that 16x pcie and 8x is HIGHLY NEGLIGIBLE !? So if you aren't planning on upgrading that aging board, you have better options for SLI and for cheaper. If you decided against another 460(same performance) you could free up a slot by buying a 570 and SLI down the road.
So in simple terms, you aren't losing any performance you will actually see on your motherboard.
I can't stand the x16 x8 argument because allot around here like to just repeat what others say without actually looking into it.

You could buy a new 1155 motherboard, ram and CPU for Less than the price of this card and it CAN't Be SLI'd.. so you are stuck with wasting the money and upgrading down the road. Just like my Setup, it is getting old and starting to drag down the Videocard.

So you'll spend $450 on a card when you could: SLi a 460 for $170, Buy another power-supply and still be cheaper, Buy a 570 with room for upgrading and save money for a better motherboard+Cpu+ram setup.

Even though your CPU is getting old, two 460's would be better or one 570. Because if you wanted to upgrade to an i5 2500k and new 1155 down the road, you can just transfer over the two 460's or that 570 with room for buying another one. Get what i'm saying ? Even if you didn't want to upgrade soon, one 570 is cheaper and leaves room for 2 of them after.

This card is a waste unless you absolutely need a single card solution, your two 8x Slots are completely fine, they don't have to be 16x

Not trying to offend you, just saying....

That's a NEGATIVE.

Even as it is you are enough CPU bounded in many gaming scenarios, and your GPU is not being fully utilized.
Forceware + Fermi need CPU cycles and more then 2 cores badly.
Why would u want another underutilized GPU

At first I didn't get why they'd release a 4xx card this late, but the pricing is very good and the performance is nice.
