They just doubled in the specs since there are 2 GPUs. It lists 2GB of GDDR5 on 512bit bus, but actually it's 2 GPUs each with 1GB of RAM on 256-bit bus. Memory is mirrored, not shared, so it's 1GB on 256-bit bus effective.

EVGA said it was too late in the production to take that connector out.
I think, they want to push this card out to the market earlier than Galaxy's similar dual GTX460 card. In the rush, they have to keep the connector.
