Which ATI card?

Thread Starter
I am at a debate with some friends over the performance of some cards that I am thinking about getting. I am wondering what your guys' input is on the three cards.

5870
6870
6950

I want to know all opinions. Go for it.

HD6950 if your budget is right.... If it is not then get the HD5870
post #4 of 27
If possible get a 6950 reference first revisions and unlock it to a 6970. Its very worth it instead of going to a 6970 straight away.
5870's keep popping up on newegg for around $200. I got one for 190 a few days ago, after long considering the 6950. Performance wise they appear to be roughly equal, so I would say keep your eyes open for a cheap 5870 and jump on it, it's bang for your buck to the max. If money is no issue then get a 6950 and flash it to a 6970.
