The poster could have said to have damaged both bioware and EAs reputation. This could potentially hurt game sales, pre-order sales, company image, developer image. This becomes exponentially more important the more "viral" his statement becomes. The more people that see his statement the more damaging it becomes. There is no doubt that his msg is considered defemation and slander.
Consider the fact that EA's response has created more damage than the statement ever has. If the world were up to you, this whole thread would be sued for slander. Just because a company exists that puts out crappy products doesn't mean you're doing any type of quantifiable damage by recognizing such lack of quality from both a moralistic as well as end-product perspective. By your definition, if I were to state "Bulletstorm is better than Medal of Honor", I am creating 'damage' as I have negatively impacted Medal of Honor's appeal. Thanks for standing up for the right for people to have an opinion...
So, since you're at liberty to discuss damages, specifically how much in total as far as financial damages are we talking about? Can't calculate an exact figure? Shame..Edited by beers - 3/12/11 at 6:10am
