[Bioware SN] Criticizing EA can cost you your games. - Page 7

Like i said before, EA is just as bad, if not worse, than Activision. They just happened to SEE Activision purposely pissing people off and used that to pretend that they're the good guys.

If I was this guy and my account wasn't restored with goodies within 48 hrs, I'd never buy one of their games again and would send torrent links to all my friends who were going to buy their games.

Well that is pretty crappy, banning him is alittle excessive.
Seems pretty legit to me.

He said what he said and did the damage. EA was in their right to do this and it even said it in the agreement that the person accepted when joining. Calling EA the devil on their own forum just doesn't seem very smart to me.

Would I want some ungrateful kid on my forum saying my company is the devil? Hell no. I think it's actually quite funny. They showed him what a real devil they could be.

Simple soultion... Abuse the report post button... if everyone there just starts reporting people they will have to stop banning people because there will be no one playing their games.

This has to be illegal. I know if it was me I would have just told them to bugger off and that I was going to crack their games if they tried to keep me out of them.

and then never buy another EA product again.

So you think it's fair that they deny him access to his games because he voiced an opinion?

Company facing negative PR from the community?
Instead of doing anything about it, ban your users! This will forcibly silence them and your dictatorship regime of fear will flourish. Nothing negative will ever be said, or you will be 'terminated'.

Why don't they just focus their market on China/N.Korea and get the hell out of selling within democratic nations?

No. I think it's fair they deny him access to the games because he disrespected the company on their official forums. It also said in the agreement he accepted that this could happen, making it legal as well.

His fault. He should have kept his mouth shut and voiced his opinion on EA elsewhere besides official forums.

And that's not very nice.. I'm an extremely fair person.

The EULA is not law, how many people still don't know this? The EULA is only enforceable to services, they can ban all of his accounts, etc but he still shouldn't be $50 in the red because EA were offended.

To the forums but there is no legal ability for them to deny him his games, no matter how much you agree to it in the EULA, because US law>EULA and there are protections already in place to prevent stuff just like this.

We don't know the whole story, though.
