MSi P67A-GD65 Power on test question!

Thread Starter
Okay, so today I just recieved my Msi P67A-GD65 motherboard, pretty exciting =]

Anyways, I installed my i72600k processor onto it with my new V6GT Cooler and my GSkill ram_

Everything is plugged and ready for testing, The problem is I have a power supply but its only a 4pin CPU Power Plug! and not a 8pin that the MSi Board seems to want.

Now can I just plug in the 4pin CPU Power Plug into the first 4 slot(The other four are cover with a plastic Plug that is removable!)

This is for testing purpose only
_ I want to test if the Motherboard would post with the Processor/Ram installed. I want to test if everything is in working order, just in case I need to RMA anything if it was Dead on Arrival** This way I can determine if everything I've right now is in good condition and working.

Of course I won't be using the computer until I order a proper 8pin CPU Power plug Power Supply Unit next week

So for now just to test, can I plug the 4pin Power Plug into the first 4pin on the 8pin Cpu Power Plug on the motherboard just for testing to make sure the motherboard is working and the ram is good??
