Could power supply damage motherboard by restarting?

Thread Starter
I know my power supply I bought from futureshop in 2008 is semi crap still runs okay though. I overclocked my cpu 3 times to 4.2 ghz and it has restarted 4-5 times in the 30 days I have owned my sandy bridge in GTA 4. I won't try to overclock it untill my SLI corsair 650 watts power supply arrives this week or the next. Not using the sata2 3gbs ports at all

I run sfc /scannow but is there are other stuff I watch for before I RMA my asrock motherboard in April
