Yea i saw all the videos, there are more videos posted by citizens down at the bottom. Its sad that the eastern asian countrys have not been lucky with mother nature these past few years.

The video of the super market store is..........

I'm just saying, in the situation to be by yourself and be carrying your kid with you can be frightening. Have some remorse.

Of course, I just don't see what you're pointing out. Of course she's scared, hell. If I just experienced a 8.9 earthquake, I'm sure I'd be scared too. It's not that I don't have sympathy for the Japanese people. I just don't see what you were pointing out.

I read a lot of idiot comments on that last you tube video, the one that stuck out to me was interesting, not necessarily one of the idiot posts, just interesting;

A base level of heat from nuclear decay continues to flow off the rods, however, and that's the problem in the Fukushima and Onagawa plants. Officials say they do not have enough electric power to pump water through the cooling systems and dissipate the extra heat. Water levels continue to drop.

Mark Hibbs, a nuclear expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, told Reuters that there is serious concern in Japan whether the cooling of the core and removal of residual heat could be assured. "If that does not happen, if heat is not removed, there is a definite danger of a core melt ... fuel will overheat, become damaged and melt down."

"Even if fuel rods melt and the pressure inside the reactor builds up, radiation would not leak as long as the reactor container functions well," Tomoko Murakami, leader of the nuclear energy group at Japan's Institute of Energy Economics, told Reuters. Still, no one wants to take the chance.
Yeah, let's build more nuclear power plants.

I just remembered that there was a anime called Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 which trys to predict the outcome of such an earthquake. Released in 2009.

From the wiki

There are basically 3 submarine internet communication cables between Asia and North America, two going from Japan to the US and one from China to the US. The 2 Japanese ones have the major traffic (see pic below).

If these cables are damaged, internet communication between the entire Asian region (including much of Australia)and North America will be severely disrupted. Traffic will have to be redirected from Asia to Middle East to Europe and then to North America.

Fortunately, as of this moment, there is no such report and I am experiencing no delay whatsoever connecting to sites in North America.
Yes im sure all those people in japan are thinking OH NO MY INTERNET CONNECTION !!! There is predicted an insaine death toll and all you can think about is internet? I mean i know this is a pc website but have a little heart.
Im helping in this way http://www.shelterbox.org/

Made me lol xD
Actually, our Italian government is planning to build not 1, not 2, but 5, f'king FIVE nuclear plants! It has been shown many times it is not cheap, durable and secure energy, why do they keep following the same road?

Sorry for OT...
