Yea the arc midi will be able to house so very large CPU heatsinks due to its width. Even the archon

Falcon26,

Just wondering which fans do you have active on your R3? If you have no HD, would it make sense to use the bottom intake fan rather than the front intake fan? Would this make it quieter? Do you use zero, one or two fans on the top? Do you use the side fan for your GPU?

Also your system is very close to the one I am planning (except I might wait for the Z68 and use dual monitors - one on the IGP and one on the graphics card). I think you are now using the EVGA 560 ti (I read on another thread). That's the card I am looking into as well as I think it is quieter than the Overclock twin fan cards? (e.g. Gigabyte, Asus, etc). Do you get much noise from this card? Did you see much rise in temps or noise from your 6870?

Also, what CPU cooler are you using? I am planning the Thermalright silver arrow (with maybe just one fan).

The other case I was looking at was the ft02, but I guess this will be a bit noisier? Did you look into this case?

Sorry for all the questions, but looks like you are big on silent systems and I am looking for a nice quiet system

^^sounds like one exciting setup

Although, I wouldn't call a 480 a silent system. You need to jump on over to spcr.com for that. A 690 can't be silent unless you're spinning those 120's @ 600 RPM. I personally found the 690 cramped, noisy, and cheap.
