There is no difference in speed between dual channel and triple channel ram. The only time you will ever see a difference is in synthetic benchmarks. And even then the difference is very insignificant. Plus, the 2600K is much faster than the i7-950. Probably around 10 or 15% faster. Plus it can overclock to around 4.5-5GHz on air. Go for the 2600K

Just keep the 950 (assuming you have it). Sure, performance will be different but you hardly notify it unless you use benchmark tools.

If you have a 950 rig right now. Just stick with it. Selling them and buying a 2600k system won't be much of an upgrade, you won't feel any real-life effects, just on the benchmarks.

But if you're looking to buy a new system, then definitely go for a 2600k rig. The Dual-Channel won't be much of a downgrade, you won't be noticing any real-life difference, just on the benchmarks.

Always go with the newer tech, specially when the price tags are so close.

And like others said there is really no big difference from the dual channel to tripple channel comparison..

Just be sure to get advice before purchasing, get good ram and a good board so you have everything you need to hold you over for a while..

I don't know much about RAM. But how bout this? 1.65 w/ 8-9-8-24 @ 2000.

As for the motherboard. The Asus P8P67 pro/deluxe and Gigabte P67AUD5/UD7 are really really good choices.

A bit overkill IMO. I would go for 8gb of Ripjaws before I got that. I am the type that prefers capacity over timings though...
