[BitTech] Carmack: Direct3D is now better than OpenGL

So he says it's better, but "counter-productive" to make the switch.

DX3D has advanced faster to support new features, add features for game developers, and choose to remove years of legacy support during the DX9 to DX10 transition.

So by that logic windows is worse than Linux. So sad. I was expecting something like some features that it had as opposed to openGL. It took them a while to catch up with tessellation so I'm still disappoint.

Carmack was only giving a few reasons.... there are dozens of detailed reasons.

However... in summary:
DX3D is for game development while OpenGL focuses on CAD
DX3D drops legacy support to make a more streamline API
DX3D adds features regularly and often in response to developer requests
DX3D drives the gaming GPU industry
