MSI 5850 (TwinFrozrII) - Overvolting doesn't stick

Hey, I unlocked the voltage control on my 5850 in order to get at least a 900MHz core and 1200 MHz memory (fairly low OC), but any time I try to shift the voltage past 1.164 (Which gets me 800/1100 stable), eventually it crashes for about 30 seconds and then returns to 1.164V, which, if overclocked, insta-fails the system. I've tried software disabling powerplay, BIOS modding to change Overdrive limits and attempt to remove powerplay etc (though currently using the BIOS that came with the card) but nothing works. I need those extra megahertz to push into the region of smooth on some of the newer games. Any help here?
