DRAM Volt: 1.60

C1E: dissabled
Intel Speed Step: missing

Now for you open your troll mouth and or troll keyboard, yes OCN is full of trolls.

I preffer to leave C1E and speed step on so as not to be buring extra watts all the time and if you use the search function you find some threads about OCing with it on.

Now i'm about to see how unstable it is with c1e off and i'd try it with speed step off too but, well speed step dissapeered my buddy who is helping me has a q6600 on a micro atx asus has the same problem but, it messed with the bios settings enough speed steep will reapeer it tends to dissapeer for him when ramping up oc settings and what not.

he has his q6600 maxed 3.2ghz on stock volts with speed step and of course with the mission option in the bios.

I have been at this for few days eric and our boss decided FSB strap need to be at 266 for starters cause eric and i had that on ma or on auto.

either way core 4 sure does like to fail alot and it makes hulk very upset and angry hulk just wand decent stable overclock and to be able to use his computer and setup steam games and ubuntu and vmplayer. Hulk not be able to to do this and getting upset and ANGRY

HULK ANGRY, VERY ANGRY. HULK SMASH 200 dollar Motherboard.
So any ways help and info would be really cool. Will post more info as I go.

So i got speed step back it goes away if you specify a cpu mulit. I'm giving it a go at 3.5 at v1.51 HWmonitor reports it as less. I have heard of volts in the bios being of on motherboards before.

whats PLL?
what is the difference between speedstep and ce1 support?
whats load line calibration?

1.51v is an awful lot for 3.5Ghz. I can hit 3.5Ghz around 1.32-1.35, can't exactly remember.

I have 2 questions for my own benefit. What is your VID? What temps are you getting at 1.51v and what cooler??

I have a Archon with 2 fans and my CPU gets very toasty during stress tests at only 1.46. I can't imagine running a Q6700 at 1.5 on air. Well, I assumed air...

true but, 1.51 volts really means 1.46. well if you look at my first post you can see what cooler i'm having some lapping issues with it either way it's still waste of 50 buck even if i didn't lap it all that well long story short i'm gonna ave machinist take off 10 thousandths to even it out for sure. at the moment with the case cover on i hit 80c on 2 cores under full load after a while.

whats the VID?

I would leave the FSB Strap on Auto and manually select your DRAM Frequency.

LLC helps so your Vcore matches closer to what you actually set it at. So instead of setting 1.5 and seeing 1.46, if you enabled LLC, you'd see closer to 1.5 actual. Just a heads up, I use LLC enabled, but often under load, my vcore is slightly higher than what its set at. You need to keep an eye on that when your in the 1.5vcore area. To be honest, you shouldn't be anywhere near 1.5v at 3.5Ghz.

Thankx i had my friend check it for me it's not with me ran for over 24 hours stable but, it was touching 80C with the side cover off. gonna have 10 thousandths taken off by a machinist of the cpu cooler bottom IF the machine can latch on the cooler.

Finally i can start setting up software!!!
